About the chick behind the words
Hello, I’m Stacy Jo
I write a hippie chick blog, sharing stories about creativity, nature, community, and family-things we all experience. I earned a B.F.A. at Auburn University and married my college sweetheart. We have three grown kids, and a chocolate Lab named Ollie. We just added a new member to our family, Milo, a Terrier + Schnauzer + Something dog! We adopted him from Homeless Pets Foundation and I look forward to writing a post about him soon.
I want to live in a way that keeps me learning and trying new things.
Some of my favorite adventures include traveling alone to Amsterdam (I made it to the hotel!), exploring outdoor art in Prague, and discovering the hidden history under Cologne Cathedral. I heard His Holiness the Dalai Lama talk about “The Pillars of Responsible Citizenship in the 21st Century Global Village” (he was very funny) and listened to Maya Angelou read her poetry at Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Whether I am far from home or nearby, I realize that we all have much more in common than we think.
Here’s what I’m listening to:
