    Gardening & Simple Living

Celebrating all things rooted in the earth and in the sky.

This category celebrates experiences rooted in nature and letting my inner flower child shine. From growing parsley, mint, morning glories, to moon flowers. I cultivate joy by planting seeds of thought, tending daylilies, and supporting pollinators in garden sanctuaries. Explore The Daylily Garden Showcase, a slideshow of my colorful flowers.

    One World, Many Stories

Reflections on culture, connection, and the shared threads that bring us closer together.

Reflections and Ideas. Books, Beliefs, and Big Ideas. Explore the big-picture issues that shape our communities and inner lives through travel, history, current events, and personal reflections. Facts and Finds

I share everything from #MusicMonday picks to songs with meaningful lyrics here. You’ll find favorites and finds that might be award winners today, as well as nostalgic tracks like 1980s Alternative, some Classical-ish (my word) favorites, and even AI blues releases. You can find the Classical-ish playlist on Apple Music. The photo above shows Greg and me by some waterfalls back when CDs were still popular. Sometimes you hear the soundtrack of us.

    Creative Current

Exploring art, expression, and the joy of making something meaningful from the everyday.
Dance, sculpture, encaustic, and what speaks to the soul. The Creative Current flows continuously because the spirit of art does, well. The image above is an abstract encaustic painting I created and exhibited last year. Most of my work seems to lean towards abstract, figurative forms. Except for “Haven”, a mixed-media piece I posted here recently. Check soon for more work I have shown around the Southeast. I’m very fortunate to have places nearby where I can show my work and talk with creative artists.

  • A Hippie Chick getting ready to rock climb

    Outdoor Life

Wandering trails, chasing waterfalls, and reconnecting with nature one step at a time.

Above is a photo of me taking a moment to breathe after rock climbing. Climbing was a very intentional activity and helped me get into that deep thought. This category is where I celebrate all things rooted in the earth and in the sky.
My thought garden is a reflective space where ideas bloom. My thoughts on life, observations, spirituality, and gratitude. Everything is related. Explore some ideas for a mindful life and more physical intentions in Bring Back You.

  • Two chocolate lab puppies peeking out of a bucket

    Life, Unfiltered

I share many family adventures, lessons we learn as parents, and the unconditional love of our Chocolate Labrador puppy.

Honest moments, growing pains, and the beauty found in everyday life. Love makes a family now with our Labrador as he grows. I write about family transitions to embrace and the resulting personal growth. People say we should “tame the beautiful chaos,” but I’d rather embrace it, life unfiltered. And when things get wild, I find it’s best to laugh. Smile along with Tommy Ryman in my favorite post, Kale Chips Are Gross. That’s one of my top picks.
