Diary of A Hippie Chick
As kids, my brother and I rode through the mountains in a unicorn-decorated van during summer-long roadcations. We tagged along while our parents visited artists from their gallery and practiced mindfulness at Unitarian retreats. I didn’t know it then, but those adventures were quietly shaping how I see the world.
Now, I share thoughtful blog posts about art, nature, mindfulness, sustainability, and family life with an open-minded view. If you’re into creative ideas, endless curiosity, and savoring the moment, you will feel at home here.
I used to think peace came from slowing down, but lately, I think it’s more about noticing while we’re moving.
Hey, I’m Stacy Jo. Mom, artist, creekside wanderer, and the Chick behind the words. I share bite-sized posts about art, nature, mindfulness, the realities of family life—the beauty hiding in the ordinary. I’m so happy you’re here and hope you enjoy what you see. Movie: Rules Don’t Apply
I recently watched "Rules Don't Apply," a fascinating dive into the world surrounding Howard Hughes rather than just his life. The exceptional cast truly brought the story to life. What stuck with me the most was the charming and clever song that beautifully tied everything together.
The Adjustment Bureau choreography
I feel truly thankful for the diverse dance styles I’ve explored along my journey. The movie The Adjustment Bureau questions the concept of free will, but what really captivates me is the stunning choreography.
“An Angel Takes Wing” encaustic artwork
The original concept was to create an encaustic painting depicting Saint Bernard of Montjoux. It felt fitting to paint him since he is the patron saint of climbers, hikers, backpackers, and skiers. Greg and I love to climb, hike, and backpack. Maybe we need a Saint watching now and again.
