Rami Malek plays Elliot Anderson, a cybersecurity expert who spends his nights hacking into his co-workers’ and therapist's social media and personal information. His therapist has no idea about this, or how skilled he really is, or what could happen as a result.
Elliot’s therapist asks him, “What is it about society that disappoints you so much?”
His answer is brilliant and a bit disturbing. It really makes you think.
His speech feels even more relevant today, even though Mr. Robot came out in 2019. The first two and a half minutes of the video are what I’m talking about, but the rest is worth watching too. I’ve seen a few episodes so far and plan to binge the rest when I can. *Just a heads-up: there’s some strong language.
