A Father's Day Envo-Gram for Bing

Dear Dad,

First, Happy Father’s Day!

Thank you for everything you did, large and small, before I could remember. And thank you for all that came after, too. 😁 As the mother of your incredible grown-up grandchildren, I understand the sacrifices a parent makes daily without hesitation.

Recently, I’ve confirmed (in my mind) that there are concepts you learn in life and qualities that are magically passed down through DNA. For instance, you taught me how to be a kind person. I recently discovered that my cousin Mark and I have strong Mountain Dew-loving DNA.

Seeking Beauty in Life

Friends have said I see beauty in people and places, no matter where I am. Thank you for teaching me to seek beauty in life! Life would be dull if you hadn’t taught me to notice the smallest details in a sculpture or the morning dew on a daylily.

I Love Dad with The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”

I accidentally came across “I Love Dad with The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” Sometimes, this happens when you’re not exactly sure what you’re looking for. “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” was Brett’s and my favorite book. We were fascinated by the holes in the pages, especially the illustrations. The themes of transformation and hope expressed by Eric Carle are why I surround myself with butterflies, from workout pants to paintings in my home and even tattoos. “I Love Dad with The Very Hungry Caterpillar” is an example of true beauty, and its messages are always with me.

Love, Stacy Jo
