With RAINN, You Are Not Alone.

Some posts are easy to write. This isn’t one of them. But silence helps no one—least of all the young people who depend on us to notice, speak up, and stand beside them. Recent events have stirred up old reflections, and I want to offer something clear and useful for anyone who needs it:

A reminder that support exists, and no one has to navigate this alone.

With RAINN, you are not alone.

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation’s largest anti–sexual violence organization. For more than 25 years, they’ve walked with survivors, offering support, resources, and advocacy. They’ve also played a crucial role in bringing perpetrators to justice.

If you or someone you love needs help, call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800.656.HOPE (4673) or visit rainn.org.
En español: rainn.org/es.

“Do not internalize the abuse, because that will make it seem that the abuse is happening all over again.” — Adam, survivor

As parents and caregivers, the idea of our children being harmed in this way is almost impossible to hold. Still, we are their grounding place. They look to us to steady the fear, offer clarity, and guide them toward safety. Advocacy starts with a single step—and reaching out to RAINN is one of the strongest ones you can take.

Let’s continue to encourage parents to stand in support of survivors. #WontStayQuiet

Parents and caregivers are essential to a young survivor’s recovery. Your presence reminds them they are not alone. Your steadiness rebuilds their sense of worth. Your example—how you listen, how you protect, how you believe them—shows them they matter.

To every young person trying to understand what happened to them: it is not your fault.

Closing Thoughts: Keep Speaking Up

Because looking away isn’t an option.

Talking about child sexual abuse isn’t easy. But young people need adults who refuse to look away.

If you’re a parent, caregiver, teacher, or trusted adult:

  • Pay attention.

  • Believe them.

  • Trust your instincts.

  • Use your voice.

Support exists. And you do not have to figure this out alone.
