With RAINN’s Help and Awareness, You Are Not Alone.
With RAINN, you are not alone.
Some posts are easy to write. This isn’t one of them. I want to offer something clear and useful for anyone who may need it: a reminder that support exists, and no one has to figure this out alone. RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation’s largest anti–sexual violence organization. For more than 25 years, they have supported survivors with resources, advocacy, and a path forward.
Parents and Caregivers Matter
As a parent myself, the idea of our children being harmed in this way is almost impossible to hold. But they look to us to steady the fear and guide them toward safety.
Parents and caregivers are essential to a young survivor’s recovery. You can be a safe place to be heard, supported, and believed. Be the person who says: “I’m listening. I support you. I stand with you.” Those words matter more than we sometimes realize. Talking about child sexual abuse isn’t easy. But young people need adults who refuse to look away.
If you’re a parent, caregiver, teacher, or trusted adult:
Pay attention
Believe them
Trust your instincts
Use your voice
#WontStayQuiet
Advocacy doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. It starts with a single step, and reaching out is one of the strongest things you can do. If you or someone you love needs support, you can contact:
National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800.656.HOPE (4673) or visit rainn.org.

To every young person trying to understand what happened to them: It is not your fault.
Support exists. Help is real. And no one has to navigate this alone.
